About Seema Patel, LPC-MHSP
I am passionate about destigmatizing mental health care and creating a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported as they navigate their relationships with themselves and others. As a South Asian American and daughter of immigrants, I understand firsthand how cultural expectations and family dynamics can shape your lived experiences. My goal is to help you reconnect with your authentic self and develop the skills you need to live a more emotionally and mentally healthy life. In our work together, you’ll find an empathetic, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges, process emotions, and experience genuine growth.
I provide services in English, Gujarati, and Hindi. Pronouns: she/her
My Approach

Populations I Serve
Individuals
I work with individuals ages 18 and older from diverse backgrounds who are seeking healing from trauma, relationship or family-of-origin issues, life transitions, cultural identity concerns, anxiety, depression, and other difficult experiences.
Couples
I work with couples who are seeking to build healthier, more sustainable relationships through improving communication, navigating conflict in healthier ways, and building emotional regulation skills that support long-term relationship stability. I do not treat betrayal trauma and only work with couples that are mutually invested in the therapeutic process.
It’s important to me that Saanga Mental Health is a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for healing. I proudly serve members of the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, refugee, and neurodivergent communities.

More About
Saanga Mental Health
Saanga means “association", "assembly", or "community" and when used as a verb it means “support.” Specifically, it means support through intentional presence.
To me, support through intentional presence means choosing to focus your full attention, energy, and awareness into a person to make them feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted. I believe intentional presence is the core of all deep and authentic connections in life, including therapy. I have seen emotional and mental growth flourish in the steady, grounded attentiveness offered by intentional presence. It builds trust, fosters emotional safety, and allows clients to take the risk of vulnerability which all make therapeutic interventions even more effective.
More About Me
I am the eldest daughter of immigrants and was raised in a small town in middle Tennessee for most of my childhood. I have always had a passion for mental health and social justice which eventually led to my career as a therapist. I take an acute interest in generational and complex trauma as well as boundary setting in collectivist family cultures. Like many other neurodivergent women and AFAB people, I was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood. I continue to be interested in the lived experiences of, and new research regarding, neurodivergence in women and AFAB people. When I am not working, I love spending my time reading books, trying new foods, moving my body, and spending time with my friends and family.
